Maria lives in Hertfordshire and was formerly chair of the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Ambulance and Paramedic NHS Trust.

Hayden Newton - interim chief executive

Hayden was appointed Interim Chief Executive in May 2007 to oversee the Trust while Chief Executive Dr Chris Carney was absent for medical reasons.

Dr John Scott - medical director

A Glaswegian by birth, John obtained his medical degree from St Andrews University in 1970.

Seamus Elliott - HR director

Seamus began his career as a theatre porter, then became a chargehand porter before moving into hospital management.

Oskan Edwardson - director of operations

Oskan started his career in the then Hertfordshire Ambulance Service in 1988.

John Brebner - interim finance director

John Brebner is an independent chartered accountant who has experience of working in both private industry and the NHS.

Caroline Bailes - non executive director

Caroline, who lives in St Albans, Hertfordshire, already has extensive experience of the workings of a boardroom through her job as Head of Corporate Development and Intelligence with the Guardian Media Group.

Paula Grayson - non executive director

Paula is a Chartered Companion of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a past Vice President, and works with them on local and national groups.

Paul Remington - non executive director

Paul, who lives in Ely, Cambridgeshire, already has experience of being a non executive director having been on the Board of the East Anglian Ambulance Trust.

Jagtar Singh - non executive director

Jagtar, who now lives in Biddenham, Bedfordshire, was born in the Punjab India and came to England in 1961.
