Two men injured, one seriously, in Littlebury RTC

A motorist has been airlifted to hospital after a car and bus collided in Littlebury, near Saffron Walden, on Friday morning.

The ambulance service was called to the scene at about 7.45am, and a rapid response vehicle, crew, air ambulance and local BASICs doctor John Eaton were sent to the scene.

Aircrew paramedic Laurie Phillipson said: "The Saffron Walden fire crews did a fantastic job of releasing the car driver from his vehicle, which took about 55 minutes.

"John and Dr Maria Smith, who was onboard with me,  sedated the patient . He suffered a head injury, fractured right arm and facial injuries - due to the nature of his injuries he was time critical and as soon as we were able, he was flown to Addenbrookes Hospital, Cambridge, where a trauma team was on standy."

The bus driver, aged in his early 60s, was also taken to Addenbrookes suffering back pain.
